Neck pain: You should ask your OB if this is OK. Although I feel it is OK in limited amounts in pregnancy I would never give permission to as pregnant woman to do so unless she were my patient or I was covering for her doctor. When I see patients in urgent care who need narcotics I refer them to their OB or call the OB for permission. Therefore, call your OB or the Doctor on call for your OB to see.

You Can: This is a treacherous area. Opiate pain medication and tylenol (acetaminophen) (the two ingredients in NORCO) are considered safe in pregnancy but should be reserved for occasional use when really needed. Opiates taken every day rapidly lead to tolerance and addiction in both mother and baby. Babies born dependent on opiates experience withdrawal and generally have problems even after they withdraw.
