Wisdom teeth: The eruption of wisdom teeth can result in bleeding, especially if the gum tissue is irritated by chewing on it or if food gets impacted under the gum tissue. If the teeth do not fully erupt, this can be a chronic problem. In such cases, the wisdom teeth should be removed.

Taste blood: Erupting teeth break through the gum tissue. Occasionally, the tooth takes a while to fully erupt and it is not uncommon for the tissue to bleed a bit either when eating or brushing the area. It is normal for this to occur.

You can: Erupting wisdom teeth that do not fully erupt into position can be the source of chronic and in some instances, acute problems with the tissues overlying the partially exposed wisdom tooth and adjacent tissues. The irritated tissue can become quite inflamed and bleed easily.
