Bug Drug: Neosporin may help but can frequently cause a contact allergy itself. Bacitracin alone may be a safer choice. Bug bites vary depending on the insect. Many bites or stings can cause allergic reactions that may respond better to steroids such as Hydrocortisone or a stronger prescription strength. Likewise some can result in serious tissue infection that may require systemic antibiotics.
