Can worms make the belly to protrude?

Yes: Yes! when i worked in parts of kenya and the sudan there were some children that had such severe roundworm infestations that it actually made their bellys protrude. It is pretty uncommon though, and i've never seen that in the U.S. More likely causes would be hernia in the U.S. Or wt gain. Your physician can rule out a worm if that is the cause.
