Be careful.: Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is so commonly used that many use it indiscriminately. A young child in daycare near me died from an overdose of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) recently. There are various strengths of Diphenhydramine available- since the correct dose is weight and age dependent, and can be influenced by the use of other drugs, it would be best if you called your md. Better motive is to determine the cause of the rash.
