Depends: Many rashes are trivial, go away on their own in a week, and have little if any importance. Not going away after a dose of benedryl adds little to the picture. If the kid is playful and otherwise normal, give it a day, or call his doc during regular hours to discuss options. If the eyes are swelling, or there are breathing issues,go to urgent care.
