Nope: Other people will also occasionally bite their tongue and wake up. It is not so uncommon that you would be the only one.

Not uncommon: Sometimes biting of the tongue is related to an incorrect interaction between the top and bottom teeth. When this relationship is incorrect without proper overlapping, our tongue can get pinched. Without intervention from your dentist, you will likely continue to bite yourself. See your dentist for evaluation and necessary bite adjustments and corrections.
