A member asked:

A defect in the inferior temporal retina will affect what?

Peripheral vision : This defect would be predicted to cause a superior nasal visual field defect, that if large enough, could affect the quality of vision. The latter is particularly true as retinal defects approach the macula (center of the visual field).

Visual field: Your visual field in the affected eye will be either attenuated or missing. Only the corresponding quadrant in the affected eye will be affected. The field loss will be noted in your superior nasal vision.
