Infection: Menses and tampon use can associate with infection in the vagina. Voided urine can then become unusually odorous. Odor in the urine can be caused by yeast, bacteria, or old blood and associated ammonia. Certain foods can make urine odorous, also. Asparagus is well known to do this. Force fluids to see if this problem abates. You may require urine testing and urine culture and pelvic exam
