A member asked:

Why bleeding time is shorter than clotting time?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Platelets: The old clotting time tests only the coagulation factors, which tend to act more slowly. The bleeding time tests platelets, your circulating band-aids, which are there for small nicks. Reference ranges differ but results in individual patients depend on what's going on.
