Not usually: Colonoscopy is great at looking at the inside surfaces of the large intestine. The appendix is attached to the colon but it cannot be examined directly during colonoscopy. In some cases, inflammation around the appendix base can be a clue to appendicitis. More importantly, appendicitis is best diagnosed with an exam and sometimes a ct scan. Colonoscopy is not a test i would do for appendicitis.
