Does b12 help treat and protect the liver?

Not really: And protect it from what? Your liver is your toughest organ, and if you exercise and don't drink to excess it will probably be working as well when you're 100 as when you were a toddler. If you do have some liver disease such as one of the smoldering hepatitis variants, vitamin B12 shots won't help you.
