Pricey placebo: The stuff is a mix of magnesium sulphate (which will give you loose bowels), sodium bicarbonate (which may make you belch) and citric acid (for taste, i suppose). It won't touch your liver. It is a scam. Don't waste your money. If you are sick, get with a scientific practitioner who's required by law not to tell you outrageous untruths.

Laxative, Antacid: Andrews liver salts has magnesium sulfate, which is a natural laxative, and sodium bicarbonate and citric acid, which act as antacids. Thus, it can help constipation and stomach upsets. It is reasonably safe but i think there are better options to treat these issues. See http://www.Nhs.Uk/medicine-guides/pages/medicineoverview.Aspx?Medicine=original%20andrews%20salts.
