Nerve problem: Numbness in the heel signifies some type of nerve dysfunction which can have many etiologies: trauma, compression, herniated lumbar disc, metabolic (ex: diabetes), etc. I recommend an evaluation by a healthcare professional for appropriate work up.

Could be: Many reasons. Was there any trauma to area? Numbness is associated with some nerve disturbance and should be checked by a podiatrist or othopod in area. Studies may be needed. Full history and exam will be performed. Best of luck.
