Depends: It really depends on where on the eye the nail hit and at what force. You could have a mild abrasion, to a subconjunctival hemorrhage (essentially a bruise on the eyeball), to more severe conditions such as glaucoma (high eye pressures), cataracts (cloudy lens), and retinal detachment with permanent loss of vision. See an eye md for an evaluation.
