Swelling: Minor swelling could be considered normal. But significant swelling in your groin area after an angiogram could be more serious. This could be a hematoma or even a pseudo aneurysm. Or it could be basic swelling that just requires warm compresses and a motrin. You should call your surgeon's office and obtain an office visit to be sure.

No: Groin swelling after an angiogram suggests that the blood vessel in the groin through which a catheter was passed to perform the angiogram had not been adequately sealed by long enough pressure over the needle hole in the blood vessel after the catheter was removed. The swelling represents bleeding in the groin from the puncture site in the blood vessel used fro the angiogram.
