How long does swelling around the knee takes after acl reconstruction?

6 weeks: Swelling around the knee may be due to fluid in the knee or soft tissue swelling around the joint. Ice, elevation and nsaids can speed the resolution. Walking too much will prolong it.

3-4 months: Swelling can be persistent for 3-4 months following the procedure. It's the body's way of responding to the surgical intervention.
