I may feel bruised: Heel spurs can be on the back or bottom of the heel. Many times it feels like the heel is bruised. This is a common problem and can be helped with rest, ice, stretching, nsaids, orthotics, proper shoes. See a podiatrist.

Heel spurs: Heel spurs do not bruise the heel. But you can bruise the heel spur. Heel spurs normally hurt as the soft tissue attachment and around the spur becomes inflamed. If you step on something hard and bruise the heel if can set up pain at the heel spur. Your local podiatrist can help you.
