A member asked:

Can a female that has had a heart operation have children?

Maybe, maybe not: This is best answered by the physicians involved in the actual procedure or current care of the patient. There are many "heart" operations that range fro minor to very complex. Some would have little or no negative effect on fertility or tolerance to a pregnancy.Others might have a residual effect on health that might make pregnancy a risk to mom and baby.

It depends.: It depends on the operation and the underlying diagnosis. Consult a specialist, such as a cardiologist or perinatologist.
