A member asked:

Can taking warfarin and probiotics cause problems?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Anything which alters the intestinal microbial content can effect vit k levels and therefore Coumadin (warfarin) dosing. It is common for inr levels, which are used to monitor coumadin (warfarin), (warfarin) to rise with antibiotics. Probiotics have the potential to increase intestinal vit k levels and reduce the effectiveness of coumadin (warfarin). If you are on Coumadin (warfarin) you should check with your doc before taking them.
