A member asked:

What is the cause of infection of the retroauricular gland?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lymphadenitis: By retroauricular gland i suspect you mean the lymph nodes behind the ear. These can enlarge and manifest pain and swelling due to inflammation in the areas from which they get lymphatic drainage. They are attempting to contain infection, tumor, or any other agent creating the inflammation. Very non-specific.
