Tooth Infection: A tooth infection is just that.. an infection. It really should not affect your salivary gland. Please have both issues treated.

No: Coincidental but not related problems. Both require treatment as they will not self-cure, do not respond to OTC's and antibiotics can only control temporarily. Please call your Dentist immediately..
