Need exam: You need to be seen by your pcp if this has gone on more than a few days. You need to be examined before anyone can tell you the cause.

Burning pain: There could be several causes and joint specialist may have different opinion, but burning pain is often nerve irritation, sometimes compression by a cyst or problem with the tissues from or near the knee, irritating the nerve in that area. If only happens when kneeling, it is likely that action causing pressure on nerve.
