After using elimite (permethrin) how long before scabies goes away? how do you know if new ones will form?

Be patient: The cream should kill the scabies within the first day of treatment. However, the skin disruption is caused by a reaction to the mites burrowing under the skin and leaving its debris in the tunnels. It can take two or more weeks for the skin to settle down and begin healing after initial treatment.If concerned a second treatment after a week could catch any stragglers, but is probably unnecessary.

Hello, i was diagnosed with scabies a few days ago..I would like to know if after the first application of the elimite (permethrin) if i can be around people?
Res scabies- permethrin almost daily x 2 wks & >7 txs of ivermectin separated x 5-6 days. 6 weeks sxms. Tx Helps, but comes back (fam of 6). Crazy itching! New ones pop up as old ones die off /c ea tx. Showers bid. Sleep on plastic. Wash in hot h2o?
