Absolutely: Absolutely. Referred pain is especially common with eruption of a lower molar. Pain from the pressure is commonly referred to the ear or generalized as a headache. Sometimes children will reflexively grind their teeth with a new molar erupting. Ibuprofen will help much more than acetaminophen. A weight related dose about 30 minutes before bed frequently helps.
