A dry cough: is not typical of functional dyspepsia. Functional dyspepsia is defined by the ROME III guidelines as upper abdominal pain, burning, fullness, getting full easily. Dry cough can be a subtle sign of GERD, gastroesophageal reflux disease.

Can you have GERD & laryngopharyngeal reflux at the same time? I get heartburn & indigestion after spicy foods, but I also feel as though I have a lump of mucus in my throat & I get a dry cough as well.....
