Afrin (oxymetazoline): Try afrin nasal spray (or a generic equivalent)--formerly required a prescription, now over the counter. Afrin will shrink up your nasal mucosa, and dry up secretions, keeping your sinuses and eustachean tubes open. It will give rapid relief.

Runny Nose: Hello, do you have a history of allergies? I often times see patients who confuse allergy with an infection. A clear watery runny nose without a fever is probably allergy and should respond quickly with an over the counter antihistamine. Ask your pharmacist to suggest a medication that will work best for you.
