Yes: Yes it is. Sounds like anxiety. See a psychiatrist who can help with medication management and guide you in the right direction as far as treatment. A therapist/counselor can help you in managing and coping with stressors and learning therapeutic techniques to help with your anxiety. There are also self help books on amazon which can be beneficial.

Ssri meds are often prescribed for anxiety as well as for depression, but you can also learn how to manage, decrease, & sometimes completely eliminate the problem by working with a therapist who specializes in exposure-based therapy for panic.
