PID: Pelvic inflammatory disease means that your private parts (mainly the cervix) is inflamed. It is usually inflamed from infection. Typically the cervix is very tender when touch on exam and looks very red and irritated on visual exam. Inflammation means the body's immune system is responding harshly to either and infection or irritation.

Unclear: He said that you did or did not have pid? Pid is, by definition, an inflammation, so it sounds like he did give you that diagnosis. If he treated you with antibiotics, he likely thinks you have pid. Sometimes doctors diagnose this based solely on a woman's pain response to touching the cervix/uterus on a bimanual exam. If you had pain when he did this, he might have thought you had pid.
