Fracture: A nondisplaced fracture is a fracture that is present but the bones are still in anatomical alignment. A displaced fracture is where the anatomic alignment has been compromised.

Fracture: Hi! displacement and angulation are used to describe a bone fracture. There are many other descriptors as well. Non displaced means the bone ends of a fracture are touching or very close to each other, whereas displaced means the fractured ends are far apart, or overlapping. Basically angulation refers to how the fracture lines up. I hope that helps, take care dr. H.

In line vs off-line: A non-displaced fracture is exactly how it sounds--the bone is broken but not out of place, being held together by the surrounding soft tissue or an incomplete break that is not loose--anatomically correct. Whereas a displaced fracture means that one end piece of the broken bone is knocked out of alignment, making the bone crooked and anatomically incorrect.

Fracture: Non displaced fractur is still aligned, looks like a crack in the bone, but bone with normal contour. A displaced fracture is not aligned and the image on xray will should the contour of the bone is disrupted.
