Which bone?: There are a few different bones in the pelvis and the treatment/prognosis is dependent upon which bone. If it is a pubic rami fracture weight bearing is allowed with an assisting device and surgery is not required. If it is in the posterior pelvis (acetabulum, ilium or sacrum) more aggressive treatment (non-weight bearing or even surgery) is indicated.

Will heal: A non displaced pubic bone fracture is more of a irritation than a problem. It heals in 4-8 weeks usually without any long term ill effects.
