Talk w/psychiatrist: For bipolar disorder, you'll need a mood stabilizer but not necessarily lithium (either carbonate or orotate). Talk with your psychiatrist about this. Lithium orotate is given in much lower quantities than the usual lithium carbonate. For depression, 150mg/day lithium orotate but in bipolar d/o 900-1200mg/day lithium carbonate. If your levels are low, you may not be protected from episodes.
