Ask your doctor: As with any surgery, you need to wait until there is an assumption of complete healing before pursuing something that changes the physiology of a previously affected organ. Assuming a normal healing time, i would assume that waiting for three months (assuming that the surgery was succesful) would be an appropriate time to wait.
