Coincidence?: Amoxicillin isn't known to cause palpitations so it may be coincidence. Or you may have an allergic reaction to Amoxicillin but that usually causes rash and itching. Btw, if you need endocarditis prophylaxis, the dose is 2 g of amox - but why are you taking it at all? The indications are: prosthetic heart valve and certain congenital shunts. Irregularity may be due to your heart issue, not meds.

Can Be, Maybe: First of all, why would you take 1000mg of amox before seeing a dentist...That's not a regular amount for anything common? Second, your symptoms could be caused by sensitivity to the medication. Have your dentist switch you to an alternative antibiotic and see what happens. Also, make sure you really need to take a medication, and make sure you're taking it correctly! don't fool around with meds.
