Solve the problem: Simple knee drainage, even with cortisone injection should be pretty nominal ($200) be careful of your expectations as that may not solve the reason or problem that caused your knee to swell and get an effusion. A good history (trauma or gradual onset of swelling, did it swell immediately, previous episodes, other joints swelling, giving way or catching sensation) and exam and x-ray are needed.
