Burns: When you burn the inside of the mouth, throat and esophagus/stomach with hot liquids, you can drink something cold to stop the progression of the burn. If it has been longer than a day or two, the damage is done and you will start to heal. During the early healing process, you should keep your diet soft to avoid further trauma and give it some time. If swallowing becomes difficult see a GI dr.
