A member asked:

Is stye itching a good sign?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Itching reaction: A 'stye' (chalazion) simply is an internal gland in the eyelid that is not functioning properly. Think of it as a pimple or boil coming to a head. The itching can be indicative of the skin stretching or breaking under the pressure of expansion. By definition, a 'stye' is not infectious by nature.
