Stye/Hordeolum: Which are infections of either an apocrine or sebaceous gland are usually easily treated. However, if you have persistent swelling and have followed the course of treatment prescribed, an incision and drainage may be indicated if resolution does not begin in the next 48-72 hours after warm compresses are started.
