Peripheral smear: Peripheral smear is evaluated by medical technologists. In certain cases a medical doctor (hematologist or hematopathologist) will review the slides, as well, and correlate the findings with a bone marrow biopsy. If the slides of the peripheral smear are reviewed by a pathologist then this should be considered a pathologist review.
