Very common: Rectal bleeding is never "normal". However, as most women develop hemorrhoids during pregnancy, rectal bleeding when moving your bowels is not uncommon. For the present, warm baths with epsom salts and anusol cream will help. If the bleeding persists, have a doctor look at your rectum. Congratulation on the baby's birth. Peter wilk, md.
