Comfortable: I would recommend wearing shoes with a wide toe box and make sure that the shoes are not rubbing along the bunion or hammertoes. Most of the pain comes from shoe irritation and not from the deformity itself.

Roomy and supportive: Wears shoes that give you room in the area of the bunion deformity. Most people with bunions will find a shoe that is stiffer and with good support to be the most comfortable. Alway try them on before you buy. Don't purchase a shoe unless it is comfortable the first time you try them on. Dr l.
