See a Doc: It is not always possible to tell and a dental problem in the back can cause pain that is referred to the ear. So best to see a doc to examine your ears. If exam is negative that you should see a dentist.

Hard for you to do..: But your dentist can help. Call for an appointment to make sure you don't have a cavity, a gum infection, or a problem with a wisdom tooth. If it all checks out, then it is possible that your have a true ear problem or possibly a problem with your jaw joint (tmj).
