Indefinitely: If you had a 'titanium rod' placed in your foot, the internal rod will remain throughout your lifetime. If there is loosening of the fixation then it may need to be removed but titanium is a great metal that does not react to the human body and wear down.

Longer than bone...: Unless another metallic device is nearby in the foot, such as stainless steel screw or staple, it should not be affected. The bone however may develop osteoporosis, infection, even rejection reaction to the metal - either way a thorough evaluation is needed to tell the problem if any.

Usually forever: Unless it was an industrial accident, hardware that is placed in your body by a surgeon usually stays in as long as there isn't any infection, pain, instability, loosening, breakage, etc. Good luck.
