A member asked:

Explain why tonsilletomy in a child is less likely to involve complications than the same procedure for an adult ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Resilience: Children are much more resilient than adults. Their bone turnover and healing rate are much faster than an adult. Most haven't done things to their body or lived a lifestyle to inhibit or greatly reduce recovery rates.
