Is citanest a safe local anesthetic?

It's an amino: Amide local anesthetic used in dentistry. As an anesthesiologist i don't use it except in a combination with Lidocaine in the form of a cream. The cream is call Emla (lidocaine and prilocaine) cream. Used on the skin to cause numbness or loss of feeling before certain medical procedures. Fairly safe but associated with methemoglobinemia. A disorder in which hemoglobin it's not capable to bind to oxygen.
