Bupivacaine: Bupivacaine (marcaine, sensorcaine) is the longest-acting local anesthetic. Adding Epinephrine to it can make the duration even longer. Exactly how long it will last in an individual is hard to predict. It also makes a difference whether it is injected locally into an area or used in a nerve block, spinal anesthesia, or epidural anesthesia.
