Neuropathy ?: The sensation of pin pricks sounds like nerve origin pain. There are many causes for this, so a medical evaluation is needed to sort this out. Peripheral neuropath: You describe peripheral neuropathy. There are dozens of causes. Diabetes is common. Some meds used for infections/worms can cause it. A spinal cord issue in your neck can cause it. If you have weakness too, it's an emergency.
