Communicate: It may be best that you call your doctor to discuss alternatives to your medication. It may be oversight from your doctor's end, but they need to be aware.

Possible habit: Percocet is an effective medication for pain and he may have done this out of habit. Many pain medications affect the liver especially tylenol (acetaminophen) which is a component of most pain relieving medications. Consider contacting your surgeon for another medication that would be safer for you as he may have mistakenly given you this medication. There are alternative pain killers.
