Haqrd to say: It seems to be pretty strong in your family and yiou are not 40;. The gene for type 1 diabetes has not been identified so there is no way to check. I'm afraid you will just have to wait and see. 40 is pretty old to develop type i so it is unusual anyway.

You can't runaway : From family , you are genetically predisposed , how ever if you take care of yourself , diet, exercise, weight loss ( if you are obese ) will catch you many years later and safe now or possible you will never become diabetic.
