Yes: Panic attacks usually peak within a few minutes, and then subside. They can be very intense -- some fear they are dying. Can have rapid heart rate, palpitations, chest pressure/pain, dizziness, shortness of breath, choking, numbness & tingling, nausea, etc. See your doctor to make sure other medical illnesses aren't causing these symptoms. Anxiety can mimic many things.

Yes: Anxiety and panic attacks can take many forms. They can last just a short time, they can last several hours, or they can be recurring throughout the day. There are techniques that you can be taught to help deal with them, psychotherapy is very helpful, and medications can also be used.

Yes: Panic attacks are under the umbrella of anxiety. They are really scary, but there are very effective ways of treating them. Tell your dr. About your symptoms. If it is true that you are experiencing panic attacks ask your doctor about the options for treatment. Best wishes.
